London Seminar Group ~ The Eustace Diamonds

The Eustace Diamonds was published in book form in October 1872 and appeared as a serial in The Fortnightly Review from July 1871 to February 1873. Throughout 2022 the Trollope Society will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Eustace Diamonds.

The London Seminar Group will be meeting in-person for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The group will be meeting in a new venue, The Meeting Room, St Peter’s Eaton Square, which is a ten minute walk from Victoria station.

Join us to discuss one of Trollope’s most enduringly popular novels. Mark Green, Editor of the Trollope Society’s journal Trollopiana, will introduce the novel providing context and highlighting the main themes. There will follow a group discussion in which everyone’s participation is welcome.

Light refreshments (glass of wine or soft drink) will be served on arrival. Price £12.

Rail strike

We are aware that there is a rail strike planned for Wednesday 27th July. As some members are travelling to London specially for The Eustace Diamonds 150th anniversary celebrations we will be going ahead with seminar group and hope that you are able to join us.

Trollope Society Seminar Groups

Seminar groups are run by the Trollope Society. Seminar groups are a great way to read Trollope. With so many novels to choose from they provide an excellent reason to read the lesser well known works, as well as to reread the favourites. Each seminar is led by one of the members of the group, and everyone’s participation is welcomed. They are a friendly and relaxed way to enjoy Trollope, share your thoughts as well as find out more from other enthusiasts.

Non-members of the Society are very welcome to come to a seminar. If they enjoy it and want to come to this or other events in future please ask afterwards for details of membership.
