London Reading Group ~ Can You Forgive Her?

The London Reading Group will be meeting to discuss Can You Forgive Her? on Wednesday 8th October 2025 at 6.30pm. The venue is The Committee Room, St Peter’s Eaton Square, which is a ten minute walk from Victoria station.

In 2025, the London Reading Group will focus on Trollope novels marking significant anniversaries. This year-long programme offers an opportunity to explore Trollope’s style and his enduring characters, reflecting on their lasting appeal and significance. Join us to celebrate these milestones with thoughtful discussion.

Join us to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Can You Forgive Her?, the first novel in Trollope’s Palliser series. This reading group will explore the novel’s themes of choice, duty, and ambition, as well as Trollope’s richly drawn characters.

London Reading Group

The London Reading Group, run by the Trollope Society, offers a friendly, relaxed way to explore Trollope’s novels. Meetings are led by members, with everyone encouraged to participate. Non-members are welcome to attend once, after which membership is required. Volunteers to introduce sessions with a short talk are warmly invited.

Light refreshments (glass of wine or soft drink) will be served on arrival. Price £12.
