Two brothers, Tom and Frank Reckenthorpe, living near Frankfort Kentucky, at the beginning of the American Civil War, parted on the issue of secession, Tom becoming a Confederate general and Frank a general in the Union Army. In a battle on the Blue Ridge, Tom, severely injured, was captured by his brother who was in command of the Union forces, and through his influence invalided home, where he married Ada Forster, whom both brothers had loved.
