A passenger aboard the “Serrapique,” sailing for Panama, who became the confidant of Emily Viner, and tried to persuade her to return to England rather than marry a man she did not love. On their arrival he had the unpleasant task of telling her that the man had died and of helping her arrange her return trip to England.
