An Autobiography ~ Big Read

From 18th November to 2nd December explore Trollope’s autobiography. Dr. Nicholas Shrimpton, editor of the Oxford World’s Classics edition of An Autobiography, will join us for our final talk on 2nd December. Dr. Shrimpton will provide an in-depth exploration of the book’s themes, offering a fascinating conclusion to our read.

Wreath-laying Ceremony at Westminster Abbey

On 9th December, join us for a special wreath-laying ceremony at Westminster Abbey to commemorate the anniversary of Anthony Trollope’s death. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Trollope’s life, his remarkable literary works, and his enduring legacy, which continues to inspire readers around the world. The ceremony will take place at 1.30pm in Poets’ Corner, followed by an optional lunch at The Cellarium Café and Terrace. Spaces are limited to 20 members, there is currently a waiting list in operation.

Christmas Stories ~ Big Read

On 16th December, we invite you to join our online Big Read, where Trollope enthusiasts from around the world will come together to read and discuss one of Anthony Trollope’s Christmas stories. This year, we will delve into The Mistletoe Bough (1863), a charming seasonal tale originally published in The Illustrated London News. The event will run from 8.00 to 9.00pm on Zoom.

The Trollope Society Christmas Quiz

Put your knowledge to the test at our annual Christmas Quiz, taking place on 30th December at 6.00pm. Participants will be divided into teams, with rounds covering topics such as Christmas traditions, Trollope’s works, and Victorian literature. The winning team will receive a year’s free online membership to the Trollope Society (T&Cs apply).
