Zoom Meetings Terms of Use
Over the past three years, we have read 15 novels, averaging one chapter a day, coming together bi-weekly to discuss the nuances of Trollope’s writing. In 2023, over 450 participants registered, with over 100 enthusiasts attending each Zoom meeting. The Big Read has become a fixed point in many Trollopians’ calendars, providing a shared space for exploration and conversation.
We have been fortunate to be joined by many of the editors of the Oxford World’s Classics editions of Trollope’s novels. Professors Francis O’Gorman, Dinah Birch, Helen Small, John Bowen, and Dr. Nicholas Shrimpton have shared their insights, enriching our understanding of Trollope’s literary legacy. Dozens of passionate participants have volunteered to introduce meetings, contributing to the vibrant and lively meetings.
The feedback from participants has been outstanding, emphasizing the significance of the Big Read in fostering a deeper appreciation for Trollope’s works.
Discussing Trollope, an author imbued with kindness, with such intelligent, knowledgeable, and thoughtful people has become a highlight of my week. I have taken part in many Zoom meetings with large groups of people, and these are by far the best-run. I am so grateful to the Trollope Society for creating and sustaining this community.
