Although totally without talent, Mrs. Brumby attempted to bulldoze the Editor into publication of her manuscript. He refused, but she made herself so disagreeable, finally threatening a lawsuit, that he paid her £10 to get rid of her, and made her an apology for the assault that she alleged had been committed by the Editor’s clerk.
