An American girl with a fine voice, who went to Ireland with her father, who was interested in alleviating the distress of the Irish tenant class. She met and fell in love with Frank Jones but when she became successful in opera in London, Frank refused to marry her and live on her salary – his own income having been wiped out by the Landleaguers. She lost her voice and, repudiating her later engagement to Lord Castlewell, returned to Frank.
