How it works

At the start of the event participants will be divided into groups of around five people. Each group will nominate a member to complete the online quiz on the group’s behalf. You will be able to discuss and confer in your group, but we ask that you do not use the internet to find the answers.

If you would like to be in the same group as friends or family members, please let the Quiz Master know at the start of the meeting.

If you would like to take part in the quiz, but do not want be part of a competing team, you can join the Quiz Master’s team who will not be competing.

There will be six rounds with questions testing your knowledge of:

• Christmas traditions
• The life and works of Anthony Trollope
• Other Victorian novels and novelists

Win a year’s online membership of the Trollope Society

Members of the team with the highest score will win a year’s free online membership of the Trollope Society for themselves or as a gift.

Terms and conditions

1. Members of the winning team will win one year’s online membership of the Trollope Society from 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2023
2. Members of the winning team who are already members of the Trollope Society will be able to nominate a non-member for a year’s online membership from 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2023.
3. Current members of the Trollope Society cannot use the prize to renew their membership.
4. There is no cash value to the prize.
5. In the event of a draw, each team will nominate one member to enter an additional round of questions to determine the winning team.
